Sector has recently opened its first office in Australia, with the aim of developing the Choice Based Lettings market. As part of our launch we attended the 6th National Housing Conference in Melbourne. The theme of our exhibition stand focused upon CBL, but we also showcased our Homelessness Prevention and Advice offerings, as this is a high profile area within the Australian Housing arena. The aim of our attendance was twofold, firstly to promote the concept of CBL, and secondly to develop our market intelligence as to how we could help to develop CBL services within Australia. Via a series of both formal and informal meetings, at all levels from Ministerial through to Tenant we found an enthusiasm for the concept that we feel means CBL will become a reality in the coming years. We will be following up a number of possibilities in the new year, and look forward to attending the next National Conference in 2011 where we expect to be able to showcase operational CBL schemes.
